Gail Andrea (Tibbetts) Herbst, 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Lifecare Center of Wilbraham. Daughter of the late Raymond and Barbara (Gauch) Tibbetts, she was born in Worcester on February 25, 1948. Gail worked for over 25 years as a direct care attendant for Monson Developmental Center before retiring. Gail tirelessly devoted her life to helping and caring for those that couldn’t do it for themselves. Gail was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and was a talented artist always drawing, sketching and painting. Besides family, Gail’s greatest joy in life was her love of animals, especially cats. Gail will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her loving daughters Debbie Bigos of Temple, Maine and Emily Davis of Palmer. Her sisters, Lois Hastings and her husband William of Ware, Arline Stred and her husband Winston of Palmer, and Raymond “Buzzy” Tibbets and his wife Brenda of Hudson, FL. Her Grandchildren, Samantha Cardin of Palmer, Cassidy Bigos of Gray, ME, Jacob Kokoski of Palmer, and her sweetest and most precious gift was her Great Granddaughter, Lilah Rose Waters of Palmer, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brothers Randy and Paul and two husbands, James Herbst and Arthur O’Brien. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 24th at 10:30am at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Palmer and is open to all who would like to celebrate Gail’s life.
