Margaret Rose Money

West Boylston—Margaret Rose (Battaglia) Money, 71, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 11, 2022, after a short illness. Born in Derby, CT on June 13, 1951, Margaret was the daughter of the late Orri and Carmella Battaglia. Margaret obtained her Bachelors of Science in education and then went on to achieve her Master’s Degree in early childhood education. She taught 2nd and 3rd grade for many years at St. Matthew’s School in Springfield, MA and then was a 2nd grade teacher for over 20 years in Belchertown. In her retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling, going for scenic convertible rides to get ice cream with her husband, and volunteering her time to read in her grandsons’ elementary school classrooms.

Margaret will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, including her devoted husband of nearly 48 years, David Money. Margaret and David enjoyed a love lasting from childhood. Margaret is also survived by her son, Stephen Money and his husband, John McTague, of Washington, D.C.; her daughter, Alison Money of Holden, MA; her brother, Anthony Battaglia and his wife, Judy, of Middlebury, CT; her 3 grandsons, Cameron, Decker, and Ascher Helmuth of Holden; as well as many extended family members and cherished friends. Margaret and David were parishioners of St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham for over 35 years before relocating to West Boylston to spend more time with their beloved grandsons.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St, Wilbraham, MA 01095 beginning at 10:00 am.
