South Hadley -William B. Wordsworth, 87, passed away July 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 24, 1935 in Holyoke, MA to Robert and Hilda (Boerner) Wordsworth. Bill was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and graduated from South Hadley High School. He also attended Second Baptist Church. He served in the army in Germany from 1957 to 1959. He worked for over 35 years for the South Hadley Electric Light Dept. first as a lineman and retired as manager. Bill also had his own business in lapidary, Silver & Stone by Bill where he sold his jewelry online through Etsy. Bill was a great handyman and enjoyed working in his garden. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, MaryAnn (Buckhout) Wordsworth of South Hadley, three daughters, Kristin Dion (Joseph) of FL, Laurel Gaudette (Claude) of South Hadley and Lisa Bell (David) of Chicopee. He also leaves a brother Robert Wordsworth (Ruth) of Belchertown, sister, Susan Gibson (Jack) of SC, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Baptist Church in South Hadley with light refreshments to follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
