Obituary of John L. Madden

"Boynton Beach, FL, John L. Madden, 85, formerly of Belchertown, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012. Born in Amherst, MA February 22, 1927, he was the son of Peter and Helen (Diggins) Madden. A proud veteran, he made a career in the US Navy, retiring as a disabled vet. His wife Lois A. (Gerbert) preceded him in death in 1993. He is survived by his 5 children, Michael Madden of Seabrook, TX, Laura Squires of Wilbraham, Sharon Burkett of Chicopee, Christina Valdes and Cynthia Parent both of Boynton Beach, FL. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. A graveside service will be Monday Aug. 27th at 11:00 a.m. at South Cemetery, Belchertown. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. "
