Obituary of Mary A. Slowick

" Mary A. (Szado) Slowick, 89, of Pleasant St, died Aug. 8 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Born in Enfield, CT, Sept. 13, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Kic) Szado. Mary has lived in Palmer for most of her life and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. She had served as treasurer of the Thorndike Polish Women's Club, and was formerly active at the Palmer Senior Center. Mrs. Slowick loved gardening and her dog Smokey. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert W. Slowick in 1980. She is survived by her son Daniel W. and his wife Nancy, of Palmer, along with her sisters Stasia Towlson of Ware, Adella McClosky of Thorndike, and brother in law Dr. Frank Slowick of Dalton and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves 4 grandchildren, Michelle, Samantha, John-Michael and Eli. She was also predeceased by her sister Helen Gula and 2 brothers, Theodore and John Szado. A calling hour will be Monday, August 11 from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Beers & story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 10:00 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
