Obituary of Margaret Murphy

" Margaret (Sullivan) Murphy, 80, of Brown St, died Sept. 2 at Health South in Ludlow. Born in Palmer Oct. 5, 1921, Margaret lived in Palmer all her life. Mrs. Murphy was the secretary to her late husband, Dr. James Murphy, for 25 years before retiring in 1968. She was also a communicant of St. Thomas Church and a member of the Wing Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. Having been predeceased by her husband in 1985 and by a son Robert Murphy in 1992, she is survived by a son James R. Murphy of New Orleans, and a daughter Margaret “Peggy” Murphy-Richardson of Sanibel, FL. She also leaves many nieces and nephews including Martin, Raymond and Christine Sullivan, as well as 4 grandchildren Edward, Robert and Brendan Murphy, and Dylan Richardson. Margaret also leaves 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday from the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home at 9:15 followed by a mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Please make donations to the St. Thomas Cemetery, Palmer. "
