Obituary of Russell L. Jopson

" Russell L. Jopson, 80, a lifelong resident of Holyoke, died Wednesday in Holyoke Geriatric Center. Born in Holyoke, June 19, 1921, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Rose (Cote) Jopson. He worked for the City of Holyoke for 35 years. While working for the city, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Public Works. Mr. Jopson was a communicant of Mater Dolorosa church. He served with the Army Air Force During WWII, and was a member of the 451st Bomber Squardron. He also volunteered at Holyoke Geriatric Center. His wife of 48 years, died on Aug. 25, 2000. He was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Lester in 2000, and Carlton many years ago. The family requests that donations be made in his memory to Holyoke Geriatric Center, 45 Lower Westfield Rd, Holyoke, MA 01040. "
