Obituary of Gerald Joseph Pottier

"Brimfield, Gerald Joseph Pottier, Sr., 77, of Willow Circle died Wednesday in Springfield at Parkview Specialty Hospital. Born in Everett, MA on August 14, 1924, he was the son of the late Ann (Dulong) and Philip J. Pottier. Gerald worked at Monsanto Company as a color weigher and in the shipping department. He retired in 1982 after being employed for 35 years. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post 241. Gerald leaves his wife of 33 years, Theresa (Muller), 3 sons, Gerald Jr. of Sierra Vista, AZ, David of Ware, Mathew of Andover, CT, and 4 step-daughters, Christine Hammond of Marietta, GA, Gail Cannon of Sewell, N.J. Deborah Wark and Sharon Veber both of Monson. .He also is survived by 2 brothers, Dennis of Belleville Nova Scotia, Canada, and James of Tusket Nova Scotia, Cananda, as well as two sisters, Eve Desley and Irene Vacon both of Monson. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by a sister Genevieve Kane and a step-son, Donald Fuller, Jr. A memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
