Obituary of Elizabeth Merle Barrett

" Elizabeth M. (Bock) Barrett, 85, of Little Alum Road in Brimfield, died Wednesday after suffering injuries in an automobile accident. Mrs. Barrett was born in South Hadley, August, 31, 1916 and was the daughter of the late Alfred B. and Mary (Ring) Bock. She lived in South Hadley and Springfield for many years before moving to Brimfield in 1972. She graduated from South Hadley High School in 1935. Mrs. Barrett had worked at the former Buxton's in Agawam for 12 years before retiring in 1972. She was also a communicant of the Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church in Brimfield. Elizabeth is survived by her husband William to whom she has been married since 1940. She also leaves two daughters, Mary E. Young of Fairfield, Illinois, Ruth A. Staples of Indian Orchard, a brother Francis Bock of South Harpswell, Maine, along with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mrs. Barrett also leaves many nieces and newphews, as well as many loving friends. The funeral services will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Bethany Charismatic Catholic Church on 167 Dunhamtown Palmer Road in Brimfield, followed by burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00- 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. The family asks that donations be made in her memory to the church at P. O. Box 607 Palmer, 01069, or to a charity of one's choice. "
