Obituary of Aldor William Landry

" Aldor W. Landry, 81, of Britton St, in Chicopee, MA died Friday, July 27, 2001 at home after a brief illness. Born in Woonsocket, RI, Feb. 12, 1920, he was the son of the late Francis and Lillian (Allard) Landry. He lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Belchertown, MA in 1978. He lived in Belchertown until returning to Chicopee in 1996 where he lived until the time of his death. He was a porter at the former Belchertown State School, retiring in 1982. He had also worked at Smith & Wesson for 8 years, where he worked on revolvers. He was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Belchertown, and served with the Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Cecile R. (Berthiaume) Landry. They were married on February 19, 1955. He also leaves 2 sons, William F. Landry of Ashby, MA and Gordon Landry of Granby, MA, as well as a daughter, Nancy Craven of Chicopee, MA. Mr. Landry also leaves a step son Armand Girard of Westfield, MA. His sister, Jeannette Lesperance, lives in Woonsocket, RI, and he has 2 grandchildren, several step grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Beers and Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple Street, followed by a liturgy of Christian burial in the St. Francis Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Belchertown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00p.m. & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that donations be made in his memory to either St.Francis Church Building Fund, 10 Park St, Belchertown, 01007 or to Hospice Life Care, 28 Appleton St, Holyoke, 01040."
