Obituary of Helen F. Mitchell

" Helen F. (Michonski) Mitchell, 84, of Old Springfield Rd, died Mon. at home after an illness. Born in Westfield, Sept. 24, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Victoria (Wozniak) Michonski. She lived in S. Hadley for many years before moving to Belchertown in 1978. She was a facilities manager at Mt. Holyoke College many years ago and was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Belchertown. Her husband, J. L. “Sarge” Mitchell died September 28, 1988. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Lucille Fillmore in 1992. She is survived by 2 sons, Douglas and Thomas both of Belchertown, and a daughter Norma McCain of S. Hadley. She also leaves 3 sisters Mary Michonski and Julia Snyder both of Westfield, and Sally Illnicky of Hadley, 2 brothers, Joseph Michonski of Westfield, and Walter Michonski of Cotuit, MA. She was also the proud grandmother of 8 grandsons, Mitchell Fillmore of Colorado, Joseph and Matthew Fillmore of this area, Patrick Mitchell of Boston, Andrew, Erik and Gregory Mitchell of this area, and Christopher McCain and 3 grandaughters, Jennifer Fillmore, Kelley Boyko and Kimberly Longridge also of this area. She also leaves 3 great grandchildren.
