Obituary of Alan Robert Peterson

" Alan Robert Peterson, 60, of Pinebrook Dr., Belchertown, MA, died Wednesday, June 6 at home. Born in Stamford CT, Dec. 7, 1940, he was the son of Virginia (Dahlgren) Peterson of Stamford, CT and the late Emil Peterson. He has lived in Belchertown for 24 years and previously lived in Darien, CT. He was a Deli manager at Stop & Shop in Hadley for two years. Previously, he worked for 29 years at the First National/Edwards Food Store as a deli manager. He was also a softball pitcher for D’Ametos in Enfield, CT. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Anne (Gregoire) Peterson. He also leaves two sons, Robert Peterson of Bridgeport, CT and Adam Beresford of Winterhaven FL. Six daughters, Cynthia Peterson and Sheryl Svenberg both of Newfairfield, CT, Elise Cote, Renee Marsh, Kristy Pelletier, and Laurie Duby all of Belchertown. Two sisters, Audrey Gray of Norwalk, CT and Charlotte Peterson of Dunedin, FL, and one brother, Eugene Peterson of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, several son-in-laws, nieces and nephews and a mother-in-law, Theresa Gregoire. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the VNA Hospice Alliance Hampshire County, 168 Industrial Dr., Northampton, MA 01060 or to the Oncology Department at Mary Lane Hospital in Ware MA 01082.
