Obituary of Peter Stanley Obrzut

Peter Stanley Obrzut, 69, (his favorite number!!!) of Granby passed away on March 28, 2020 due to complications of COPD. He was born on September 9, 1950 in Ludlow to the late Adam and Mary (Slesinski) Obrzut.
He enlisted in the US Navy in January of 1969 soon after graduating from Ludlow High School. He served aboard the USS Constellation during the Vietnam war as a Petty Officer. He earned The National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was discharged in June 1973.
He soon started working at Western Mass Electric at the Power Plant as an Electrical Engineer, transferring to the Underground at East Springfield with Eversource and then the Stockroom where he took great pleasure in “lovingly” harassing everybody. He retired in 2018.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to Maine and playing on the computer.
Pete will be loved and forever missed by his loving wife Joan Drouin, three step children, Kyle Theriault, Alex Theriault and Stacey Theriault and her boyfriend Donald Sadler. He also leaves two daughters, Janice and Jeanna Obrzut, his Mother-in-law Joan MacKeen and many Drouin and Johnson in-laws. He will also be deeply missed by Matt McConaha and siblings.
A very special Thank You to The Staff and patients of Baystate Pulmonary Rehab in Springfield.
A celebration of Pete's life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.
