Wilbraham, Janet  (Fontaine) Cabana, 88, died peacefully on Monday, April 20th, reunited with her Lord  in whom she believed deeply, and family that had predeceased her.  She was born in Springfield on July 27, 1931 and was the daughter of George O. Fontaine, Sr and Alice E.  (Larivierre) Fontaine.  Janet was raised  in Chicopee and lived there  for many years before relocating to the family home on Nine Mile Pond in WIlbraham.  It was a place she truly loved and felt most at peace there.   She worked for many years as an LPN at St. Luke's Nursing Home providing her patients compassionate and loving care in their final days.  She was an avid reader, card player and enjoyed winter months in FL with her sister Joan and partner Marge.  She will forever be remembered as a very kind, gentle and loving soul who always had a smile on her face and a good word to say.   She will be sadly missed by her children, Denise Karpowicz and her husband Jack, Robert Cabana, David Cabana and his wife Luisa, and Jeffrey Cabana and his wife Karen along with her nine grandchildren, Steve and his wife Shelly, Leigh, Ashley, Rebecca, David, Luke, Cameron, Meghan and Gianna and two great grandchildren, Dylan and Chloie.  Her sister, Joan Poirier and partner Marge Potter of New Port Richey, FL and many nieces and nephews will long cherish the memory of "Aunty Bonne".  Besides her parents,  she was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Gaudreau and brother George Fontaine Jr.  All service are private to the family due to  current circumstances and she will be laid to rest in the family plot in St . Rose Cemetery.   A Memorial Mass in her memory will be held at a later date.  Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org.
