Obituary of Jean Paul J. Demers
Belchertown-Jean Paul J. Demers, 76, passed away May 1, 2020 with his family by his side. Born July 23, 1943, he was the son of Ernest and Juliette (Morin) Demers. Jean Paul grew up in Brimfield and has lived in Belchertown for the past 20 years. He was a survivor of many hardships, including an accident in 1985 that left him in critical condition, with 2 badly broken legs and severe head trauma. Through his determination he overcame the odds and walked again. Prior to his accident Jean Paul was part of Local 248 Roofers Union. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was taking a walk, riding his motorcycle, fishing or hunting. Above all, he loved any time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed by his son, James Demers and fiancé Tammy Morin of Ware, his daughter Gina Lunden and husband Richard of Holland, along with his beloved granddaughter, Juliet Lunden as well as a brother, Ronald Demers of Chicopee. Jean Paul was predeceased by his sister, Vivian Clark of Southwick and Roland Demers of Brimfield. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston or Shriners Hospital for Children.
