Obituary of Doris E. Bienvenue

Doris E. Bienvenue, 91, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on July 3, 2020. She was born on April 7, 1929 in Holyoke to her loving parents, the late Delvine and Roseanna (Belanger) Labonte. Doris was raised in Holyoke but lived most of her adult life in Chicopee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul, son David, daughter Sharon, and infant daughter Joan. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Theodore, George, and Henry and sister, Alice. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karen Sulewski, Lois Stratton, Laura Bienvenue and Paula Bienvenue. She also leaves behind sons in law, Walter and Daniel; daughter in law Carol; grandchildren, Peter, Kathryn, Amy, Brian, Scott and Shawn; and her great grandchildren, Chase, Ella, Aiden, Devin, Alexander and Zachary, as well as many dear neighbors and extended family members. After retiring from Eastern Etching, Doris enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing cards, scratch-off lottery tickets, and watching news programs. She loved her fur-ever evasive cat Penny, John Wayne movies, and Johnny Cash music. Memories of Doris will be forever held in the hearts of her family and friends. Doris was a hardworking, incredibly strong and selfless person. She will be remembered as being family oriented, fun loving and kind, and sweet to everyone. Her immediate family will have a private graveside service in Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley.
