Obituary of Ryan Anthony Szafranski

Palmer-With overwhelming sadness, the family of Ryan Anthony Szafranski, formerly of Monson, announce his passing on August 1, 2020. Ryan was born in Springfield on February 1, 1990 to Michelle (Szafranski) Brown and attended Monson schools.
Ryan ("Ry-Ry" "Rye" "Fry-guy") was a skilled mason and landscape designer that took the utmost pride in his work. Both employers and customers alike were always left impressed with Ryan's work ethic and attention to detail. Ryan was a perfectionist on the job, often garnering many compliments and appreciation from those he worked for.
Ryan enjoyed music, particularly metal and rock, being in nature, hanging out with friends and family, barbecuing, and all things comedy (he could be quite good with impersonations himself!).
Surviving Ryan are the loves of his life, his children Bella, Noah, and Ryan Jr. Also, his dedicated mother, Michelle Brown, sister, Gianna Szafranski, grandmother, Susan Bourbonnais, grandfather, Richard Zulch, aunt Danielle Zulch, and uncle A.J. Milne. He leaves many other loved ones from the Szafranski, Zulch, and Carrasquillo families, as well as innumerable friends and wife, Heather.  Special mentions to Steve Brown and Dennis Lawson.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Ryan had a wonderful smile. He was fun and silly. He was tough yet sensitive. He was caring. He was passionate. He was one in a million. He was loving. He was, and always will be, loved. Unfortunately, like millions, Ryan also suffered from addiction. Substance issues often alter it's victims, but it doesn't diminish their value. This battle was not to be won, leaving so many heartbroken and grief-stricken. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider making a donation in Ryan's memory to the Salvation Army, a global charity that provides a great deal of services, including addiction treatment.
