Obituary of Martin M. Tkacz

HOLYOKE--Martin Tkacz, 73, of Holyoke, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 15. Son of the late Louis and Aurora (Hull) Tkacz, he was born in Holyoke on October 18, 1946. After graduating, he went on to obtain his Bachelors and served his country proudly in the United States Navy. After his service, he became an LPN and worked for many years helping those around him. Martin will be missed by all who knew him, including his son Eric Tkacz and wife Heather of Cape Cod; his two sister-in-laws Jackie O'Malley and husband Harold of Holyoke, and Marcy Barrows and husband John of Springfield; his brother-in-law Paul Hamel and wife Joann of Merced, CA; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Rena Tkacz who passed away in May of this year. Rites of Committal and interment to be held Friday, August 21 in Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman St, South Hadley.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sister Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew St. Springfield, MA 01104.
