Obituary of Anna L. Squires

Belchertown—Anna “Tootie” L. (Krawiec) Squires, 85, passed away peacefully on January 5. Daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Smart) Krawiec, she was born in Chicopee on March 10, 1935. After graduation from Chicopee High School, she went on to become a Residential Director for the Department of Developmental Services for many years. As a resident of Belchertown for over 66 years, Anna was a dedicated parishioner of St. Francis and was also an avid member of her local Pitch Club. She will be fondly remembered for her love of playing cards, horse racing, country music, and, of course, her trips to Foxwoods Casino. Above all, Anna loved spending time with family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her daughter Linda Bak of Belchertown and Laura Veber of Chicopee; her grandchildren Michael Maiers and his wife Tiffanie of Ware, Jennifer Jacobs and her partner Fred LaFountain of Agawam; Kristin Veber of Chicopee; her great grandchildren Lindsey Jacobs and Dylan LaFountain; her son-in-law Christopher Bak of Hatfield; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her two siblings, Edward and Edna. Due to COVID-19, burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
