On Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, Vincent Kevin Tobin (“Vinny”), beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away at home, while with family. The son of William H Tobin, Jr. and Rita (Hayden) Tobin, Vinny was born in New York City on February 16th, 1946.  Vinny relocated to Springfield, MA, during the 1960s, and worked in multiple positions as a laborer, until obtaining his CDL license during the 1970s.  After driving truck for several years, Vinny began working at the former Springfield, MA Marathon House as a substance abuse counselor.  Shortly after starting a family in 1980, Vinny began his college studies at Springfield Technical Community College, attending classes there and at Springfield College over the next decade, until earning a Master’s in Education degree from Cambridge College in 1994.  While receiving his formal education, Vinny remained a dedicated father, and continued advancing in administrative leadership roles at several local Methadone clinics.  In 2011, Vinny retired from full-time work as a Vice President of Operations, and spent his remaining time with family.    Vinny was widely regarded as a dependable, dedicated, forthright, trustworthy, and loyal person.  In his spare time, he enjoyed time with his family, television, and watching the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.  An active and involved grandfather, Vinny’s greatest passion was spending time with his grandson Cameron and granddaughter Oliva, regularly taking them to the movies, Six Flags, or to play bowling and/or mini golf.
