Just want to send my condolences to Alice's family. I didn't know her any years, but enjoyed the time I knew her. I met her in a group for grief. I had lost my mother and she had lost her husband. We and others from our group used to have lunch once a month at her house till covid interupted us. Now that we could meet again, I reached out to her through her e-mail. Not getting an answer I became concerned we lost her. Unfortunatly it turned out we did. She was an amazing woman and am privliged to have known her. We all mourn the loss if our parents, but from the conversations we had, she is at peace with the man who held her heart. May they enjoy eternity together. Her friend, Beverly Cassady.

Alice, Thank you for all the brief conversations over coffee wherever we may have bumped into each other. You and Fred were a treasure to know.

This is Julie, Alice's youngest sister, writing from Ann Arbor MI. This collage celebrates her place--the Google earth image of Alice and Fred's house and gardens and the Library just through the trees. Early in January, she sent me a treasure trove of photos selected from her albums, including many that I don't remember ever having seen-- of me, her, and the rest of the family. The two of us sitting on the steps holding our stuffed animals (dog, bear). Me reaching out to touch her hair at what was probably my third birthday party. Alice and our black cocker, Cheeka. When my son was born, she made him an elephant sweater with a trunk attached in the front and and a little tail hanging down the back. He wore it to his first flute recital. We still have the sweater, of course. I celebrate Alice's handwritten letters with extracts, one furthering my gardening apprenticeship and the with news of Sunny and Lavender. And there had to be a cat--this year's Christmas card.
