Obituary of Philip E. Canuel

Belchertown- Philip Edward Canuel, 62, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2021. Phil was predeceased by his brother, Alex J. Canuel, his father, Anicet Joseph Canuel, and his mother, Rita Marie Canuel. He is survived by his wife, Margarita Canuel; his daughter, Rabecca A. Martinez; his son, Matthew E. Canuel; his son-in-law, Hector L. Martinez; and his grandchildren, Jordon and Elyot. He also is survived by his brothers and sisters, Constance A. Canuel, Daniel A. Canuel, Coleen M. Smolinski, Angela M. Bamber, and Pamela A. Canuel. Phil was a musician who played from the heart, an excellent machinist, an awesome cook, a lover of nature, a caring brother, a good friend, a good father, and a loving, wonderful husband. He was a friend and a "brother” to many. He will be deeply missed. A walk through visitation will be held on March 13, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Due to current restrictions, Phil's burial will be held privately.
