Obituary of Chester F. Brozek
Three Rivers--Chester Brozek, 89, beloved husband of Irene (Frydryk) Brozek, passed away March 10, 2021 at Chapin Center in Springfield. Chester was the son of the late Simon and Honorata (Kruczek) Brozek.
After graduation from Palmer High School, Chester enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served on the USS Conway during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning to Three Rivers, he married his next-door neighbor and high-school sweetheart Irene, and they would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in June. Chester was a long-time employee of the former Monsanto in Indian Orchard and was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul/Divine Mercy Parish.
Chester and Irene passed along their love of family, music, and good Polish cooking to their sons, Steven (Pat) of Stafford Springs, CT, Jim (Suzanne) of Sturbridge, David of Three Rivers, and Michael (Sue) of Belchertown, and daughter Carolyn (Mark) Baldyga of Palmer. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Laura, Jennifer, Kate, Christine, Mark, Kara, Kristen, Nicholas, Ryan, Brandon, Amanda, and Rebecca, and great-grandchildren Cece, Jerry, Mia, Trey, Lucas, Olivia, and Evan. He was also “Uncle Zab” to many, many nieces and nephews. Chester was predeceased by his brothers John, Edward, Joseph, and Stanley, and sisters Nellie Kokoszka and Vera Kokoszka. He is survived by brother Fred (Betty) of Three Rivers and sisters-in-law Lillian Olearczyk, Helen Rivard, and Sally Frydryk.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 8:30am-9:30am followed by procession to Divine Mercy Church in Three Rivers for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial to immediately follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
