Obituary of Marshall W. Payne

South Hadley - Marshall "Bill" W. Payne, 80 passed away March 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.  He was born June 2, 1940 son of William and Mary (Sisco) Payne.  Bill was raised and educated in Scranton, PA and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Hartford.   He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from July 1958 to July 1961.   Bill retired from the USPS as a letter carrier and previously worked as operations manager for James River Graphics.    He was also an entrepreneur who started many businesses.  Bill was a member of the American Legion Post 124 in Westfield, Sportsman Club of Westfield and a lifetime member of the Thomas Paine Society.   In his leisure, Bill enjoyed golfing and was an avid N.Y. Yankee and N.Y Giants fan. He will be deeply missed by his wife Patricia A. (Picard) Payne of South Hadley, and his three children, William Payne of Chicopee, John Payne of Monson and Deanne Rokowski and her husband Joe of Northampton.   He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Olivia, Jorja, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, Faith, Isabella, Sofia, Angelica, Luna and his Godchildren, Colin and Angelica.  The Payne family would like to extend special thanks to Holyoke Hospice, Chandacare and Dr. Bajwa for all their help and support.   Bill was a communicant of St. Anne's Church in Chicopee where his Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. please meet directly at the church.    Burial will be private.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.     For more information, please visit www.beersandstory.com
