Obituary of Wilburn G. Dawson

South Hadley - Wilburn G. Dawson, Sr., 92 passed away on March 10, 2021 at his home with his daughter by his side. Born May 20, 1928 in Iaeger, West Virginia. He was the son of James and Hattie (Waldron) Dawson. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and Korea. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Red Star Express Lines until he retired.  He enjoyed hunting and working on cars. He was huge fan of Nascar. Wilburn leaves behind his children, Linda Dawson-Hayes of Agawam, Retha Dawson of South Hadley with whom in lived, Wilburn G. Dawson, Jr. of Westfield, Karl Dawson of Chicopee, and Mark Dawson of Granby.
Due to COVID restrictions services will be privately held for the family and Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
