Obituary of George J. Robert

Granby— George J. Robert, 69, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Wednesday, March 10,2021 of complications from COVID-19. Beloved son of the late Roger and Mary (Leclerc) Robert, he was born in Holyoke on October 24, 1951. After graduating from Holyoke Catholic High School, he went on to work for many years at CENVEO in Chicopee where he retired in 2017.

George had a passion for gardening and enjoyed the outdoors. He was proud to have visitors view his flowers and extensive landscapes, each with their own theme he created. He also was an avid cook and everything was always made to perfection. He loved hosting backyard get-togethers for family and friends in his beautiful gardens.

     George had a very generous heart and will be missed by all who knew him, including his loving partner of 35 years Richard Blay of Granby; his sister Shirley Lemire (Roger) of Easthampton, his brothers Kenneth Robert of Chicopee, Charles Robert (Mary) of SC, and Dennis Robert of Northampton; several nieces & nephews; Richard Blay’s sister, Mary Coury (Joe) of Cheshire, his brothers Robert Blay of Clarksburg, and Donald Blay (Mary) of North Adams; his dear friend Dr. Virginia Lee of CA; and his beloved pet cats, Livi & Coco who will miss him tremendously.

     In addition to his parents, George is predeceased by his sister-in-law, Anne Robert and his brother Roger and his wife Maryann Robert.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
