Obituary of Carl W. Delp
Granby- Carl Willis Delp, Sr., 87, passed away April 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 12, 1933 in South Tamaqua, PA to the late Paul L. and Katherine (Shellhammer) Delp. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, Carl later worked as a refrigeration and maintenance employee for Food Mart. While living in Granby, MA, he also ran a Christmas tree farm. During retirement and in his leisure, Carl enjoyed spending winters in Florida walking on the beach and summers in New York fishing and gardening. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by three of his siblings; his oldest son, Butch; and his grandson, Andrew. He will be forever missed by his wife, Eleanor (Renner) Delp; their children, June Delp and husband Geoff Levy, Cindy Foster, and Paul Delp and wife Veronica; grandchildren, Carl, Aaron, Ryan, Joey, Danielle, Kendra, Paul Jr., Christina, Brandan, and Mathew; as well as three great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends. Calling Hours will be held Monday, May 10th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home and will conclude with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m.
