Karl Oliveira

Obituary of Karl Oliveira

Palmer-Karl Oliveira, 57, sadly passed away unexpectedly April 26, 2021.  He was born March 13, 1964 in Palmer, son of Bernice (Frydryk) of Three Rivers and the late Anthony Oliveira.

Karl has been a lifelong resident of Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1982.  Karl has been instrumental in organizing all of his class’s high school reunions, holding regular meetings at St. Joe's, along with serving as an officer on their committee.  He continued his education at WNEC, obtaining his BA in Mathematics.

For the past 10 years, Karl worked at Lincoln Financial Group, previously employed at various insurance and financial institutions in the area.  A longtime, well-known W.MA baseball star, Karl was the only non-professional baseball player inducted into the Western Mass Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.  His love for the game of baseball and competitive edge in the Tri-County League was evident to all fellow players and spectators.

He was meticulous and took much pride in his home, lawn and yard.  Karl was always busy and could fix anything.  As a natural leader, he served as officer in the Tri-County League and St. Joe's Club.  The many circles of friends and co-workers are numerous.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his high school sweetheart, wife of 30 years, Karen (Leduc) Oliveira, along with their three children, Kristen and husband William Contois, Beth and Nathan Oliveira, all of Palmer.  He also leaves his mother-in-law, Betsy Leduc, and siblings, Diane and Joey Smola, Linda and Ken Hylind, Tina Oliveira, Mark Oliveira and Beth, Lisa Oliveira, David Oliveira, and Janice Kucewicz along with many nieces and nephews.

For everyone's health and safety, a walk through visitation will be held Monday, May 3rd at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home.  From 3:30-4:00 p.m., the time will be reserved for elderly and immune compromised with public visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 4th at Divine Mercy Church at 10:00 a.m. with a private burial for the family at a later date.  Kindly meet directly at the church, 2267 Main St., Three Rivers, MA 01080.  Thank you for your understanding and consideration with keeping everyone safe.  In lieu of flowers, a Go Fund Me has been set up-Karl Oliveira Memorial.
