Lori LaValley

Obituary of Lori Jean LaValley

Sunderland--Lori J (Angers) LaValley, 60, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Beverly (Stark) Angers, she was born in Holyoke on November 26, 1960.

Lori worked for many years as a case manager for the Department of Children and Families and in her retirement, she worked as a Care Provider, doing foster care for adults with disabilities.

Lori was a caring and compassionate individual, evidenced by her dedication to her work and each patient and their families that she cared for. Each family was welcomed into her home and each one held a special place in her heart. As a resident of South Hadley, she was an avid parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church and served for several years as a Eucharistic Minister.

When Lori did take some time for herself, she spent that with her family. Her grandchildren were her world and everything she did, she did for them. She enjoyed local craft fairs, weekly visits to the flea market, trips to her favorite casino, as well as going on several family camping and beach trips together. Family was very important to her and she loved getting together and hosting countless Holidays and Sunday dinners.

Lori will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her husband, Michael LaValley of Ware; her best friend and daughter Caitlyn Angers of Sunderland; her two beloved grandchildren, Jaedyn and Ava; her step children Matthew LaValley of Westfield, and James LaValley and Michelle LaValley, both of Chester; as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Wayne Angers.

Visitation will be Friday, July 2, 2021, from 4pm-7pm at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
