Obituary of Joan L. (Petrich) Gaetani

Belchertown-Joan L. (Petrich) Gaetani, 84, passed away June 22, 2021.  Born in Holyoke on January 15, 1937, she was the daughter of William and Louise (Warner) Petrich.  Joan and her late husband Nicholas, raised their family in Belchertown and resided in Pine Valley Plantation for the past eight years.  She worked until 1994 at Greater Springfield Lincoln Mercury.  Joan's green thumb tended to many plants and gardens throughout the years.  She also took much enjoyment traveling east of the Mississippi to car shows while they showcased their 38' Buick.  Joan also dearly loved her four legged Italian Greyhound companion, Max.   In 2019, Joan was predeceased by Nicholas, her husband of 63 years.  She leaves behind her two children, Glenn Gaetani of Falmouth and Debbie Magiera and her husband Mike of Palmer as well as three grandchildren, Hope, Ruby and Samuel.  Visitation will be held Monday, June 28th from 4:00-6:45 p.m. at the Beers & Story PALMER Funeral Home with personal memories to be shared at 6:45 p.m.  Please respect the families wish for masks to be worn for everyone's protection.  For those wishing, donations may be made in her honor to BARC, PO Box 161, Belchertown, MA 01007.
