Obituary of Mary Ellen Kennedy

Mary Ellen Kennedy, 86, of Granby, Massachusetts passed away June 27, 2021 at home.  She was born on December 18, 1934 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Stefan and Susan (Polisin) Buczala.   She was raised in Northampton and graduated from Northampton High School class of 1953.  Mary has lived in Granby, MA for eleven years and previously lived in the surrounding area.   She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in South Hadley.   She retired in 1990 from Holyoke Hospital where she worked as a registered nurses and was the the head nurse in the Pediatric department.  After retiring, she continued to work in the field of nursing for several other facilities including Hospice of the Fisher Home in Amherst.   Mary enjoyed puzzles and playing board games with her family, especially Scrabble.  She will be deeply missed by her daughter Mary C. Kennedy  with whom she lived in Granby and her son William G. Kennedy, Jr and his wife Karen.   She is also survived by her brother, George Buczala and four grandchildren, Timothy, Bridget, Shannon and Patrick Kennedy.  All services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road Waltham, MA 02452.
