Obituary of Douglas E. Haber

Douglas E Haber, 61 of South Hadley, MA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 12, 2021. Doug born on October 22, 1960 was the son of the late Anne M. (Brunelle) Haber and the late Fred C. Haber Sr., both of South Hadley. Doug loved the outdoors, was an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed watching all varieties of wildlife. He was passionate about fishing, gardening and landscaping. Doug loved tinkering with any engine he could get his hands on. He spent most of his work life as a mechanic in the construction industry, starting off as a marine mechanic for Brunelle’s Marina then worked for his father-in-law at the former Lawler Construction. He spent the last 25 years of his career as a mechanic and truck driver for Marion Excavating. Doug leaves behind his son, Jake Haber of Austin, Texas, his daughter Chelsee, son-in-law Courtney Dalcourt and granddaughter Candor of Kentucky, his brothers the late Fred C. Haber and Alice of Granby, MA, James Haber and Jay, his sisters, the late Beverly Haber, Barbara Cote and Donald and Elizabeth Haber all of South Hadley. Doug also leaves behind several nephews and their spouses- Jason and Kim, Scott and Tami, Jayson and Dody, Benjamin and Megan, Jimmy and Jennifer and Danny and Tim. Doug kept his childhood friends close to his heart throughout his life. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
