Obituary of Rollande T. Salois

Rollande T. (Martineau) Salois, 91, passed away November 24, 2021. Born in St. Hermenégilde, Quebec, Canada on March 21, 1930, she was the daughter of Nazaire and Germain (Godbout) Martineau. Rollande grew up with her family in Canada until 1954, when they moved to Vermont. In 1956, the family moved to Three Rivers and they have lived in Palmer since 1961. Seven years ago, Rollande moved to Fiskdale with her daughter, Colette. Rollande took much enjoyment in playing Bingo and cards along with her hands being busy knitting, sewing and needlepoint. She kept her mind sharp with reading and word games and was also a wonderful cook. From meat pies to crepes and cakes, Rollande's delicious food was enjoyed by many family and friends. In 1999, Rollande was predeceased by her husband, Armand G. Salois. She will be dearly missed by her four children, Richard Salois and his partner Nancy Perry of Belchertown, Colette Roche and her husband David of Fiskdale, Michael Salois of Palmer and Daniel Salois and his wife Kathleen of Wilbraham along with seven grandchildren, Greg, Annette, Rachelle, Anthony, Daniel, Brady and Erin. Her great grandchildren, Shannon, Jamie, Remi, Jasper, Benjamin, Killian and Stephanie along with three great great grandchildren, Uriah, Emma, and Isabella also will remember her fondly, blessing her with five generations. Rollande's siblings in Canada, Diane Martineau, Luc Martineau and sister-in-law Aline Martineau as well as step grandchildren and step great grandchildren also survive her. Besides her parents and husband, Rollande was also predeceased by her sister, Aline Malhot and brothers, Lucien Martineau André Martineau. Services will be privately held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Thomas Church, 1076 Thorndike St., Palmer MA 01069.
