Obituary of Lorraine D. Boyer

Holyoke--Lorraine D. (LaRoche) Boyer, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was born in Holyoke to the late Irene (Gauthier) and Henry Laroche on February 22, 1927. She attended Holyoke schools and devoted her life to homemaking. She was an avid reader of mysteries and loved cooking and knitting. Lorraine was a humble and devout catholic who drew strength from her daily commitment to prayer. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Parish, Chicopee, MA. She was predeceased by her three husbands, Joseph Ostrowski, Harry Kumpulainien, and Armand Boyer. She was also predeceased by her only sibling, Gertrude Frageau. She leaves her loving children, Michael Ostrowski and his wife Judith of South Hadley, Joanne Eastwood and husband Robert of South Hadley, Lisa Lastoria and her husband Michael of Blackstone, Lynne Colesano and her husband Joseph of West Springfield, Amy Smith and her husband Dennis of Chicopee, and Corey Kumpulainien and his wife Ella of New York. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Stefanie, Sarah, Rachel, Allison, Matthew, Nathan, Kelly, Zachary, Jacob, and Aivan: along with seven great-grandchildren, Mark, Owen, Hope, Julia, RJ, Ava, and Liam. The family is grateful for her end-of-life care provided by Holyoke Health Care Center and Holyoke Medical Center. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Beers & Story South Hadley, 646 Newton St, from 9:00am-11:00am. A funeral liturgy service will begin at 11:00 with Fr. Skowera officiating with burial to immediately follow in Notre’ Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman St, South Hadley, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Massachusetts Military Support Foundation, Joint Base Cape Cod, 1015 South Inner Rd, Buzzards Bay, MA 02452.
