Mat had been servicing my bike for the last several years. I may have bought the last bike he ever sold (a used Schwinn mountain bike). He was a great guy and a great bike mechanic. He had an awesome, quirky sense of humor. I would often stop in during the cycling season to shoot the breeze. I'll miss those impromptu conversations. I remember once riding past his shop. He saw me and hopped on an electric bike he was building. I'm riding uphill getting passed by some guy in sneakers not even pedaling. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a good man who will be missed.

I babysat Mat when he was young (kindergarten, first grade?). He was a high-spirited youngster. I had occasional contact with him when he was an adult. I am sorry to learn of his passing. My condolences to his family.

I met Mat about 10 years ago and have been a regular customer. The only "problem "I had was a visit was never quick. Mat loved to talk and I didn't mind spending time with him. RIP friend.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my age old friend, Mat Harris. 1976 at the St. Philomena BMX practice area, we met, brawled, with it only being broken up by a dog nipping at our heels. We became close friends and teammates for many years. We hadn’t spoken in a long while but I kept abreast of his life via both his father and surrogate California father. Heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family and long list of worldwide friends. Chris LeDonne
