Obituary of Jennie N Cavanaugh
Brimfield – Jennie N. (Sarna) Cavanaugh, 94, passed away at Quaboag on the Common after a brief illness on April 12, 2022.
Born in Palmer on August 9, 1927, she was the daughter of John and Magdalena (Dobrowolska) Sarna. Jennie grew up in Palmer where she lived for much of her life before moving to St. Petersburgh FL after her retirement from Monson Developmental Center where she worked as a Vocational Instructor for many years. While in St. Petersburgh, Jennie was very active and performed with the Knockers, a traveling Kazoo Group that entertained around the area. She loved having her family come to visit her when she was there. Jennie returned to Palmer is 2005, eventually settling in Brimfield.
In 1978, Jennie was predeceased by her husband Donald. She is survived by her sister Julia Pickul. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; Edward and Jean Bubon, of Bondsville, Karen and Donald Jasmin of Westford, Susan and Donald Leiskau of Wilmington, and James and Paula Fortuna of S. Hampton, NH., Patricia Purda of Arizona, Anne and Charles Saggiotes of Concord, NH and John Karczmarczyk of Mundelein, IL. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Jennie was predeceased by her siblings, Adele A. Bubon, Barbara Fortuna, Mary Zajac, and Frank and Joseph Sarna.
The family wishes to thank Quaboag on the Common for the care they provided this past week. In lieu of flowers, make any memorial donations to St. Thomas Parish. Calling hours will be April 18th, 2022 from 8:45am-9:45am at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00am at St. Thomas Church in Palmer, with burial to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
