Obituary of Linda Rose Smith-Williams

Springfield-Linda R. Smith-Williams, 70, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2022.  Born February 13, 1952 in Palmer, she was the daughter of Charles R. Sr. and Alice E. (Salsbury) Smith.  Linda grew up in Palmer and has lived for over 40 years in Springfield.  She worked as a LPN for the Commonwealth of MA until her retirement in 2016.  Her artistic talents kept her hands busy with arts and crafts, sewing, and jewelry making.  She also enjoyed time reading, games on her phone, Oprah, and music-most especially Bob Marley and Luther Vandross.  Her caring heart and selfless love made her a guardian angel to many.  

Linda will be dearly missed by her husband of 42 years, Porter, along with their children, Casey Smith of NC, Porter Williams (Latoya), Sr and Corey Williams both of Springfield.  Linda's love will also forever remain with her eight grandchildren, Shanice Crowley, Key'linda Rose Williams, Porter Williams Jr., Divon Williams, Key'azia  Heatly,  Key'andra Heatly, Corial Williams, Zacorey Williams., three great grandchildren Zanajah Brice, Zy'Mir Black, Egypt Holland along with a host of nieces and nephews.  Linda also leaves siblings, Nancy Smith Spencer and husband Richard of E.Hartford, Jane Smith of Belchertown, Mary Smith Witherspoon of Southbridge, David Smith of Westfield, Joy Smith of Amherst, and Debra Smith of Holyoke.  Besides her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brother, Charles Jr. in 2001 and sister, Joanne in 2009.  

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home with a service to begin at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield. To view the service at 11:00am virtually click here https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/3102605251
