I just loved the adventure I had when I visited their store, especially Lee nicely suggesting that maybe it was time for Ed to send me home. Prayers for the family ! Maureen Madden

Reading Lee's obituary brought back a flood of memories. I first met her and Ed in the mid 1970s when I had just started my business down the street from their store. It was always an adventure for me going into the hardware store. It was never as simple as telling one of them "I need a 4" screw "....they needed to know what I was going to do with it.. Helping trouble shoot a leaking toilet, reassuring me it was easy to change a light switch. Needless to say, I always got the right item for what I was trying to fix. She was always very helpful and supportive. They didn't provide that level of service for just me. They did that for anyone who walked into their store. They just wanted to be helpful out of the kindness of their hearts. ...save you a few bucks.
People like that don't exist any more. I'm happy she got to live such a long life. So much for the old adage "only the good die young". Rest in peace sweet lady. ~Jacqueline Dupre, Swift River Crafts
