Ann, Lisa and Family, my deepest and sincerest condolences. Bud was a friend, a mentor and a fixture through the majority of my formative years. From learning to love soundtracks of the many musicals Bud kept stocked in his S-10 pick-up to the debates on Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa and who was in fact the better drummer. Bud was a guiding presence throughout my young adult life and helped shape me into who I am today. The Allagash canoe trip with Bud was once in a lifetime. I remember the first day we set out and the canoes had to be more or less dragged over shallow stream for what seemed miles. I remember after about 2 hours coming upon Bud and Jack in the middle of the stream, and Bud full on surrendered to the stream and was sitting in about a foot of water eating a granola bar. A couple of days later we ventured out to gather wood for a campfire and Bud was wearing what would prove to be his last pair of dry shoes. When we got closer to shore we attempted to pull in close, the plan was to have Bud step out and brace the canoe and I would make a nimble exit. It didn't go exactly as planned, and Bud made it as far as one foot on shore, and from there it was several more missed steps and we both ended up in the water. It didn't matter, as we made the most of it, and laughed the whole time we filled the boat with wood. Like all of us, I know I will miss him. From fishing and the hunts to watching the birds, I will always have a smile on my face when I think of Bud. To his family, I hope Bud's memories help carry you through this, he was an incredible man, and an amazing friend. To Bud, I hope you find the Beaudieu Bird's that we only heard, I will miss you, Bud but the outdoors will always keep you in my memories.

Bud was a gentleman above all else. He was kind and humble. He was omnipresent throughout my childhood as a friend to our family. He attended family barbecues, we played pick up basketball together (until he got his eye poked), we hiked all over the White Mountains of New Hampshire and spent plenty of time in the outdoors. Bud had many a great story and he was willing to share. He gave advice with giving advice. He had a subtle way of describing a life well lived that gave you something to aim for. He pushed himself past his comfort zone and set a fine example for not just myself but many other young men who were his friends. While I never met his family, he spoke of them often and loved them a great deal. He will be missed, but above all remembered.

Memories with Bud are far to many to list. The many hikes . One that stands out was the first time he stepped into Tuckerman Ravine. He stopped in his tracks . I forget his exact words but he was in awe of what he was looking at. Bird hunting many times . Canoeing the Alagash . Salmon fishing in Homer Alaska. Just so many and so easy to recall. Thanks for the memories BUD. They were the best of times. Your friend Roger
