Obituary of Echo L. Cooke-Yanosky

Granby- Echo Lorette (Lariviere) Cooke-Yanosky, age 60, a lifelong resident of Granby, Massachusetts, was called home on May 11, 2022, after a long illness. Born in Holyoke, MA on January 23, 1962 to parents J. Albert Lariviere and Rita M. Lariviere. Echo attended Granby High School and also UMass Amherst, where she received her BS in psychology, followed by attending HCC and becoming a Registered Nurse. Echo worked in many places during her lifetime, including Willimansett Nursing Home in Chicopee, MA, visiting nurse for both Holyoke Visiting Nurses and O'Connell Visiting Nurses, and most recently worked as a nurse at Western Massachusetts Hospital in Westfield, MA. Echo had a zest for life and enjoyed playing her flute, going for walks and hikes, singing, praying, and being with friends and family. She attended church at Christ Community Church, being part of the worship team and playing her flute at numerous events and occasions. Echo will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her husband of 24 years, Chuck, and her four sons; Jeffrey Cooke, his partner Christa, and their daughter River Rose of Boise, Idaho, Zachary Cooke of Ware, MA, Clayton Yanoksy, currently serving in the Marines in Iwakuni, Japan, and Evan Yanosky of Granby, MA. She leaves her stepdaughter, Kayla Yanosky of Salem, MA. Echo is also survived by her Mom, Rita M. Lariviere, of Granby, MA. She leaves her sisters; Linda Laprade and her husband Andre of Barrington, NH, Ila Smith and her husband Dan of Holyoke, MA, Erin Kelly and her husband John of Holyoke, MA. Echo leaves behind 5 brothers as well; Allen and his wife Rosemarie of Springfield, MA, Rene and his partner Joanne Corbitt of Granby, MA, Verne and his wife Deborah of Huntington, MA, Ian and his wife Brenda of South Hadley, MA, and Sam and his wife Lisa of Oak Ridge, TN. She also leaves Chuck's parents, Charles and Thelma Yanosky of Perryhall, MD, and Chuck's brother, Ed Yanosky and his wife Kim of Parkville, MD. Echo is predeceased by her sister, Ruth DeTour, and her Dad, J. Albert Lariviere. Her first husband, Jeffrey Cooke also predeceased her. Echo leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends and her entire church community. Echo truly always had her Lord and Savior on her mind, on her lips, and in her heart. Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. A Liturgy of Celebration of Echo's life will be held on May 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Community Church, 1255 Federal St., Belchertown, MA. A period of visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be held in West Street Cemetery in Granby, MA following the ceremony. The family would like to thank all of the Hospice nurses and staff for their kind attention and loving care of Echo. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorial donations be made in Echo's name to Christ Community Church at 1255 Federal Street, Belchertown, MA 01007.
