Obituary of Susan L. Kolodjay

Susan L. (Harty) Kolodjay, 76, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2022 with her loving son Kris by her side, after a brief battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyeen (Tourville) Harty, she was born in Chicopee on May 9, 1946. Susan graduated from Chicopee High School in 1964 and attended Elms college, graduating in 1968. She taught in Chicopee public schools for 36 years, retiring in 2004. An avid traveler, Susan loved road trips around New England and throughout the pacific northwest, and all over the United States. Susan loved books on true crime, playing cards with her girlfriends, and taking in movies and plays at the theater. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her son, Kristopher Kolodjay and his wife Camille, and her loving grandchildren Finley and Alina of Cedar Ridge, California; sister Patricia Jolicoeur and her husband Bill; sister Donna Grimaldi and her husband Richard; many nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Harty, and her sister Joan (Harty) Ladner. A private memorial service will be held at Trinidad State Beach on California’s North Coast.
