Obituary of Denise D. Peetz

Belchertown—Denise Diana (Cote) Peetz, 66, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Baystate Wing Hospital. Daughter of the late Gerard “Leo” and Rita (Cournoyer) Cote, she was born on December 30, 1955 in Chicopee. John George Peetz, 64, passed away on April 13, 2020 at home. Son of the late Albert and Lillian (Chevalier) Peetz, he was born on June 8, 1955 in Holyoke. Denise was always busy working on her garden, doing arts & crafts, and learning new skills. John was often found building and fixing things, driving his boat on the Connecticut River, and riding his Harley-Davidson. John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Belchertown. They loved spending time with their family, and their dog Pede. John and Denise enjoyed taking long car rides, traveling, and going to the beach. As they were always together, the family will honor this by having a joint memorial. John and Denise and will be dearly missed by all who knew them, including their 3 children, April Peetz, John Peetz Jr., and Lisa Jezisek of Belchertown; granddaughter, Lillian “Lily” Peetz; her siblings Rose Bartusewich, Richard Cote, and Donna Currier; his siblings Joan Frey, Beverly Wilson, James Peetz; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to their parents, John is predeceased by his sister, Nancy Laroche. Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 9:00am-10:30am at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St, followed by a procession to St. Patrick’s Church, 30 Main St, for the Liturgy of Christian Burial, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/
