Obituary of Albert Andrew Dawson

South Hadley—Albert Andrew Dawson, 97, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Holyoke Medical Center. Son of the late Edward and Mary (Molloy) Dawson, he was born in Jersey City on November 8, 1924.

Albert enlisted in the Armed Forces, proudly serving his country during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the United States’ Air Force.

After his honorable service, Albert worked for many years as an electrical and mechanical assembler for Bendix, and aerospace company.

Albert was a Life Member in the NRA for many years and a long-time member of the American Legion, Post 260 in South Hadley.

Albert will be dearly missed by those who knew him, including his son, Peter Dawson of South Hadley; as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Albert is predeceased by his two brothers, William J. Dawson and James A. Dawson.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home from 11:00am – 1:00pm. A procession will follow to Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery for Albert’s committal prayers, beginning at 2:00pm.
