Obituary of Shelly Ann Majka

Shelly A (Jusko) Majka, 57, passed away on August 23, 2022, after a 3-year battle with breast cancer. Born February 8, 1965, in Palmer to the late Edward Jusko and his wife Patricia (Santos), Shelly was a lifelong resident of Palmer. She leaves behind her husband of almost 37 years, David Majka, her 2 children Scott Majka (Kailee) and Meghan Majka (Cory) as well as her cherished granddaughter Emilia. Additionally, she leaves her mother Patricia Jusko, her sister Kelly Laviolette (Mark), her brother Kevin Jusko (Sherri) and her bonus brother Michael Blazejowski. Shelly also leaves her nephews, nieces, many in-laws, and extended family members. Shelly worked 36 years for Mass Mutual, 32 of which were in the credit union where she eventually became the branch manager. Through her extended time there, Shelly developed many lifelong friendships that she cherished, especially Molly Terpos and Tina Fedak. Shelly loved Ogunquit Maine, spending much time with her family on the beach and considered it her second home. If the sun was shining, Shelly was most definitely in her “place by the sea.” She also loved her many family vacations to Florida. Calling hours will be held on Monday August 29 from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM at Beers and Story Funeral Home in Palmer, MA followed by a funeral mass at St. Cecilia Church in Wilbraham, MA where Shelly was a longtime communicant. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the mass at Tony and Penny’s Restaurant in Ludlow, MA.
