Obituary of Marion Frances Delimat

Marion Frances Delimat, a lifelong resident of South Hadley, passed away October 15, 2022. Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Prajzner) Delimat. Ever since she was a very little girl, she lived in the family home in South Hadley, which her parents had built from used brick during The Depression. Marion was a graduate of South Hadley High and Bay Path Junior College, and worked as a medical secretary. Marion was a communicant of the former Mater Dolorosa Church and a volunteer in the office there every Sunday morning for many years. Marion was an active member of the Inter Se Club, the Polish Women’s Club, and the South Hadley Women’s Club. She was an active bowler in a local league, and loved to spend time outdoors walking around town or maintaining her lawn and yard. Marion was an excellent knitter, and in her retirement, she made baskets and baskets of hats and scarves for charity. Word puzzles also became a favorite pastime of hers. Marion was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Olga Lajzer and Alice Munson, and her two brothers, Joe and John Delimat, and her dear niece, Karen King. Her love will remain with her nieces and nephews, Marcia Peters, Annemarie Sias, Wayne Munson, Vaughn Munson, along with their children and grandchildren. Family and friends may gather at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home on Fri., Oct. 21st for 9:00a.m. to follow to a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cross Parish in Holyoke. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
