Obituary of Amy Marguerite Helena Meacham

Monson -Amy (Duquette) Meacham, 93, passed away January 7, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.   She was born Amy Marghuerite Helena on October 28, 1929, in Barre, VT to Aimee and Rosanna M. (Bishop) Duquette.  Amy was raised in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School.  She resided in Monson for most of her life and was a longtime member of the First Church of Monson and a founding charter member of the Hearts Willing Club.  She was the secretary for the Monson Travel Club, an active member of the Monson Senior Center and longtime volunteer in the kitchen.  She enjoyed the monthly outings with the Lunch Bunch.  Amy volunteered for the Red Cross Blood Drives for many years.  She retired from Palmer Motor Coach after a long career as the office manager. 

She is survived by five children, Dwight Meacham (Deborah) of Monson, William D. Meacham (Linda) of S. Carolina, Diane Joyce of Hampden, Donald Meacham (Charlene) of Monson and Denise Donovan (Dennis/Pooch) of Monson.   She will also be missed by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, her dear friend Shirley Battige, and her loving caregivers.  Amy will be fondly remembered as Gram by all the family friends that knew her and enjoyed her quick wit.  Amy was predeceased by her husband, George William 'Bill' Meacham, sisters, Shirley Garvin and Olive Duquette-Smith and a son-in-law, David K. Joyce.  

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 20th at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 p.m.    A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the First Church of Monson.    Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson.   Donations in her memory may be made to the Monson Senior Center.  For more information, please visit
