Obituary of Edna A Watson
Palmer-Edna A. (Roberts) Watson, 88, passed away at her home on January 14, 2023. Born December 25, 1934 in Palmer, she was the daughter of Henry A. and Alice L. (Audren) Roberts. Edna grew up in Three Rivers and lived for some time out of the area before returning to Palmer 12 years ago. Edna worked in various capacities through the years but most proud of the time she owned the Alexander's Market with her late husband, Richard. Edna was a communicant of Divine Mercy Parish and had many close friends at Kirkland Manor, where she resided. Her social calendar was full with engagements of eating out with friends and family, reading, crossword puzzles, shelling and time at the beach along with keeping her mind sharp while watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Edna's kind heart was always helping others in every way that she could. She loved to laugh and the time spent with family was the greatest gift to her. In 2008, Edna was predeceased by her husband Richard M. Watson. She will be dearly missed by her six daughters, Beverly Scagliarini and husband Gary of Ludlow, Donna Desautels and husband Robert of Ludlow, Alice Taylor of Ludlow, Carol Maki of W.Springfield, Ellen Cronin and fiancée Fran Smolkowicz of Belchertown, and Tracey Melbourne and husband Todd of Springfield. Edna also leaves her dear 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren that lovingly called her Gigi. She is also survived by siblings, Marion Poulin of Hampden and Ronald Roberts and wife Jean of Belchertown along with dear friend, Michael Wojnilowicz. Besides her parents and husband, Edna was predeceased by her brother, David Roberts. Visitation will be Monday January 23rd at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish with burial to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery.
