Obituary of Richard Lyman Brock

Richard "Stitch" Brock, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Richard is predeceased by his wife Mary A. (Griffin) Brock, the love of his life as well as his 3 sons: Tommy, Jimmy and Richard. He leaves behind his children: Kevin and his wife Susan, Donna Colburn and her husband Neil, Kathleen Kemple and her husband Bob, Michael, John and his partner Sheryl, William, Mary Kate and her partner Victoria and Kelly Heffner and her husband Jim; his step-children: William Boyle and his wife Diane, Katie Boyle and her spouse Ellen and Robert Boyle and his wife Sharon; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Born in 1931, his early years were formed by the Depression and created his lifelong strong work ethic, which he passed along to his 11 children. He was proud to serve his country in the US Navy from 1950-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Richard was a Springfield Firefighter for 33 years. He had a great love for the trucking business and drove for various companies throughout his career. He was a deeply religious man and we have no doubt God has made a special sunny place for him in Heaven with a favorite book and an apple.

The family would like to give special thanks to all of the staff at the Atrium at Cardinal Drive in Agawam for the exceptional care, love and compassion shown to our father these past 4 years. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
