Obituary of Brittney Gail Bliss
On June 6, 2023, Brittney Gail Bliss became the most beautiful angel after a courageous yearlong battle with cancer at the age of 5 years old. Brittney was born on May 27, 2018, in Springfield, MA and was the beautiful daughter of Brian and Elena Bliss. Though her life was short, she made a lasting impression on all that were blessed to know her.
Brittney had a light that shined so bright, she had the most beautiful smile and the bluest eyes that sparkled, her laugh could brighten any dark day. She gave the best eyebrow rubs and wasn’t afraid to let you know who the boss was. She was the sweetest little girl with just a dash of sass, was smart beyond her years and had the best comedic timing. On any day you could find her crafting, learning in her workbooks, playing outside, or dressing up.
She had the best dance moves and always loved a good kitchen dance party. She would serenade us with songs and always brought silliness into each day. She loved playing with her two dogs and spending time with her sister. She loved her family more than anything, equally a daddy’s girl as well as mommy’s girl, her strength and bravery have taught us so much about courage and love, living in the moment and making the most of each day, even the tough ones.
Brittney was predeceased by her maternal “Gigi”, Deborah G. Houlberg. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Brian and Elena Bliss; sister, Trinity Roy; maternal “Papa”, Edward Houlberg; paternal “Memere”, Donna Mandeville and her husband, “Pepere” Bob; paternal “Pepere”, Brian G. Bliss and “Mimi” Janice Guz; her dogs, Max and Tucker; as well as 8 uncles, 6 aunts, many cousins along with close friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the following morning, June 13, 2023, at 11:00am at the Red Oak Church, 337 Piper Rd., West Springfield, MA 01089.
