Obituary of Aaron M. Shafer
Roslindale, MA- Aaron Shafer, 43, passed away June 6, 2023. Born in Northampton on April 25, 1980, he was the son of Daniel Shafer and Therese Denecke.
Aaron loved music and playing his guitar and was very proud of the extensive pedalboard he put together over the last few years. He was an avid Boston sports fan and a lifetime athlete. He loved to read and write and recently tried his hand at song writing. His friends and family loved his kindness, his big heart, and the fact that he was tall enough to reach high things. Aaron’s greatest joy was spending time with his 3-year-old daughter, June, who he affectionately called “JJ”. He loved to have her fly high up on his shoulder as “June Jet”, dance with her in the living room, build the tallest block towers with her, and snuggle with her at bedtime.
Aaron will be greatly missed by his wife of 12 years and friend of 28 years, Rebecca Hildebrand, his wonderful daughter June, his parents, Daniel Shafer and Therese Denecke, his brothers, Ryan Shafer and Emmett Shafer, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Services are being held privately and at the convenience of his family. A celebration of life to be planned for a future date in Roslindale where he lived with his wife and daughter.
